Hello there! My name is Lorie Lengyel and I am so glad that you found me at Tales From the End of the Tether. This site started as an idea 4 years ago when I was struggling with my physical and mental health. I felt that I was getting no where with the healthcare providers I was seeing, and I just felt like I was at the end of my preverbal rope. Beyond tired and frustrated, I had an epiphany that I can’t possibly be the only woman desperately seeking help and coming up short. I had a dream of starting a community of like-minded ladies where we could help each other by sharing our own experiences. Self-doubt and fear kept me from publishing my first blog, so I’m very happy to be in a place where I’m ready to share.
While I was going through my darker days, I felt incredibly alone and unsure. My goal with this blog is three-fold. First, I’d like to help other people experiencing depression and other mental health concerns realize that they’re not alone. If I made it through, so can you. Secondly, by sharing my experiences, I hope to help put you on a path to your own self-discovery and treatment. Last, but not least, I want to offer suggestions, information, and hope to the loved ones who watch us suffer, but are unsure how to help. I hope that you find understanding and community here.
Sooner to later in life, we will all find ourselves at the end of our ropes. Just maybe, though, when we let the rope go, we can drop into understanding, growth, and hope. I hope that you enjoy journeying with me through my Tales From the End of the Tether.
